Coachella Valley Soap Box Derby - Race, Become a Racer in Soap Box Derby of the Desert

There are a variety of ways to get involved with the Soap Box Derby of the Desert.

1) Become a Racer
For children between 8 and 17 years of age and their families, the Soap Box Derby can be an unforgettable experience. Find out more.

2) Become a Soap Box Derby Volunteer
We need volunteers on race day and other race day tasks. Contact us for more information.

3) Become a Sponsor

Wheel Sponsor $150
Wheels are the most expensive part of the car, and wear out the fastest. Sponsor the cost of a set of wheels. This sponsorship will be listed on the wheels and in the program.

Car Sponsor $1,000
This will cover all costs to purchase, ship, build and race a car for a child who's unable to afford to participate. This sponsorship will be listed on your car and in the program (logo sticker to be provided by sponsor).

Event Sponsor $2,000-$10,000
We have various Event Sponsorships available, each with their own unique benefits. Whether you sponsor the finish line, the starting gate, or the entire event, your company will be prominently featured in all derby promotions.

Individual Donations Requested
These sponsorships will assist in underwriting race day expenses and covering the costs of sending our winning families to compete in the All-American Soap Box Derby in Akron, Ohio. You will be listed in the event program.

Sponsorship Benefits

Event Sponsors will be listed in all derby press materials and can brand their area on race day.
Cars that win on race day go on to compete in the All-American Soap Box Derby in Akron, Ohio. They are returned to sponsor for promotional opportunities when they are retired.
Cars that do not win on race day can be raced again in subsequent years and continue promoting your contribution for years to come.
Car sponsors have a large area on either side of the car to place their promotional decals.
Sponsors may provide banners for display on race day.
Sponsors are listed in event program and on event t-shirt.
Your sponsorship provides life enrichment between parent and child as they build the car together for race day.
Your sponsorship allows a child to learn life lessons in perseverance, following instructions, and cooperation.
